Your trip in a nutshell
Itinerary
Day - 1
Baku Arrival: The Windy City
Touch down at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and meet your representative for a smooth transfer to your hotel. After checking in at 14:00, the rest of the day is yours to get acquainted with Baku. Take a walk along the Caspian Sea promenade or explore the downtown area to witness the city's unique blend of Soviet history and futuristic architecture before settling in for the night.
Day - 2
Prehistoric Azerbaijan: Mud and Masterpieces
Travel southwest to Gobustan National Park, a UNESCO site preserving thousands of rock engravings dating back to the Mesolithic period. Nearby, witness the strange geological phenomenon of bubbling Mud Volcanoes—Azerbaijan is home to nearly half of the world's total. Back in the city, admire the fluid, wave-like architecture of the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid, and explore the classic vehicles at the Vintage Car Museum housed within.
Day - 3
Baku Highlights: Carpets and Citadels
Immerse yourself in the capital's rich culture, starting with a gondola ride through the canals of Little Venice on the boulevard. Visit the unique Carpet Museum, shaped like a rolled rug, to see the nation's weaving heritage. Step back in time in the UNESCO-listed Old City (Icherisheher) to view the Maiden Tower, and conclude your day with a stroll down the vibrant Nizami Street, famous for its grand facades and luxury shopping.
Day - 4
Shahdag Escape: Alpine Heights
Leave the coastal capital behind and drive to the breathtaking region of Shahdag. Nestled in the Greater Caucasus, this area is defined by ancient glaciers, deep valleys, and mountain lakes. Upon arrival, take a cable car ride to the higher peaks to absorb panoramic views of the rugged landscape. Enjoy the crisp mountain air and the serene atmosphere of this alpine resort before settling in for the night.
Day - 5
Return to the Land of Fire
Travel back to Baku to explore the roots of Azerbaijan's "Land of Fire" moniker. Visit the Ateshgah Fire Temple in Surakhany, a historic castle-like temple used by fire-worshipping Zoroastrians. Continue to the hillside of Yanar Dag, where natural gas vents have kept a fire burning continuously for centuries, rain or snow. Check into your Baku hotel for your final night in the country.
Day - 6
Baku Departure: Mall and Memories
Spend your final morning indulging in a shopping tour at Ganjlik Mall, the city's largest retail hub featuring over 80 stores and entertainment venues. Pick up some last-minute souvenirs and enjoy the modern amenities before your transfer takes you to the airport for your flight back to India, concluding your Azerbaijani adventure.
