Your trip in a nutshell
Itinerary
Day - 1
Yerevan Arrival: The Pink City
Touch down at Zvartnots International Airport and transfer to your hotel to settle into the Armenian capital. Begin your exploration at the towering Mother Armenia statue for panoramic city views before descending the limestone steps of the Cascade Complex, a hub of modern art. Stroll past the grand Opera and Ballet Theater and down Mashtots Avenue to the singing fountains of Republic Square. The tour concludes with a solemn visit to Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial, to pay tribute to the country's history.
Day - 2
Southern Heritage: Mount Ararat and Red Rocks
Journey south to the legendary Khor Virap Monastery, offering the closest and most spectacular views of the biblical Mount Ararat. Explore the Birds' Cave (Areni-1), an archaeological site where the world’s oldest shoe and winery were discovered. Indulge in a tasting at the Hin Areni Wine Factory before marveling at Noravank Monastery, a medieval masterpiece nestled dramatically within a narrow gorge of sheer red cliffs.
Day - 3
Alpine Escape: Peaks and Pearls
Travel to the mountain resort town of Tsaghkadzor to visit the medieval Kecharis Monastery and take a scenic ropeway ride for sweeping alpine views. Continue to the high-altitude shores of Lake Sevan, often called the "Pearl of Armenia." Climb the peninsula to explore the historic Sevanavank Monastery, enjoying the contrast of ancient black stone churches against the azure waters of one of the world's largest freshwater alpine lakes.
Day - 4
Garni and Geghard: Temples and Traditions
Step back in time at the Garni Temple, the only standing Hellenistic colonnaded building in Armenia. Descend into the gorge to witness the Symphony of Stones, a stunning natural formation of basalt columns. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery, partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, before participating in a master class to bake traditional Lavash bread, an essential part of Armenian culture.
Day - 5
