Itinerary
Day - 1
Baku Arrival: The City of Winds
Touch down at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and meet your representative for a smooth transfer to your hotel. After checking in at 14:00, the rest of the day is yours to get acquainted with Baku. Known as the "City of Winds," the Azerbaijani capital offers a striking first impression where ancient stone walls meet futuristic glass towers along the Caspian Sea. Take a walk along the promenade or explore the downtown area before settling in for the night.
Day - 2
Fire and Fluidity: Ancient Flames to Modern Curves
Experience the stark contrasts of Azerbaijan, starting with the "Land of Fire" heritage at the Ateshgah Fire Temple, a historic castle-like site of Zoroastrian pilgrimage in Surakhany. Continue to the hillside of Yanar Dag, where natural gas vents have kept a fire burning continuously for centuries. Back in the city, admire the ultra-modern, wave-like architecture of the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid, and explore the classic vehicles at the Vintage Car Museum housed within.
Day - 3
Baku Highlights: Citadels and Canals
Immerse yourself in the capital's rich culture, starting with a journey back in time in the UNESCO-listed Old City (Icherisheher) to view the Maiden Tower. Shift to the modern waterfront for a gondola ride through the canals of Little Venice and a visit to the unique Carpet Museum, shaped like a rolled rug. Conclude your day with a stroll down the vibrant Nizami Street, famous for its grand facades and luxury shopping.
Day - 4
Prehistoric Journey: Mud Volcanoes to Mountains
Check out and depart for Gabala, taking a fascinating detour to Gobustan National Park. Here, you will decipher thousands of rock engravings dating back to the Mesolithic period and witness the bubbling geologic phenomenon of Mud Volcanoes—Azerbaijan holds nearly half the world's total. After exploring these prehistoric wonders, continue the scenic drive into the foothills of the Greater Caucasus to reach Gabala for your overnight stay.
Day - 5
Gabala Adventure: Lakes and Peaks
Wake up in the lush embrace of the mountains and ride the cable car at Tufandag Mountain Resort for panoramic alpine views. Relax by the serene, reflective waters of Nohur Lake before hiking to the Yeddi Gozel (Seven Beauties) Waterfall. Visit the local shooting center for some sport and explore the bustling local market to taste regional delicacies like honey and jam before returning to your hotel.
Day - 6
Baku Return: Retail Therapy
Depart the mountains and drive back to the capital for a day of indulgence. Dive into a retail adventure at Ganjlik Mall, the city's largest shopping hub, featuring a mix of global brands and entertainment zones. Continue to Park Boulevard, a multi-story mall on the waterfront, before enjoying a final evening stroll amidst the elite boutiques and century-old buildings of Nizami Ganjavi Street.
