Your journey commences with an arrival in Madurai, followed immediately by a scenic drive towards the Nilgiri Hills. As you leave the temple city behind, the road winds upward, trading the heat of the plains for the cool air of Ooty. Upon arrival in the evening, check into your hotel and rest, preparing for the exploration of the "Queen of Hill Stations."
Day - 2
Ooty: Gardens, Peaks & Tea History
Today is dedicated to the diverse landscapes of Ooty. Begin with a panoramic survey of the region from Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiris. Descend to explore the famous Government Botanical Gardens and the fragrant Rose Garden, showcasing the region's horticultural richness. Immerse yourself in local heritage at the Tea Museum before enjoying a leisurely boat ride on the man-made Ooty Lake.
Day - 3
Kodaikanal: Drive to the Princess of Hills
We depart Ooty and traverse the winding roads to Kodaikanal, a hill station renowned for its mist-covered granite cliffs. The drive offers shifting vistas of forests and waterfalls. Upon arrival in the afternoon, check into your hotel. Spend your first evening strolling along Coaker’s Walk, a paved pedestrian path that offers commanding views of the valley floor and distant plains below.
Day - 4
Kodaikanal: Cliffs, Lakes & Cascades
Explore the natural and spiritual landmarks of Kodaikanal. Witness the majestic Pillar Rocks, three massive granite boulders standing 400 feet tall, and the silver strand of the Silver Cascade Falls. Transition to the town center to relax at Bryant Park and enjoy a boat ride on the star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake. Conclude the tour at the Kurinji Andavar Temple, famous for the rare Kurinji flower that blooms once every 12 years.
Day - 5
Rameswaram: Crossing the Pamban
We descend from the hills and drive southeast to the sacred island of Rameswaram. The highlight of the journey is crossing the Pamban Bridge, an engineering marvel suspended over the Indian Ocean. After checking in, visit Agnitheertham, a sacred stretch of shallow sea where pilgrims perform holy baths. The evening is reserved for relaxation in this spiritual town.
Day - 6
Rameswaram: Temples & Ghost Towns
Begin with the architectural grandeur of the Ramanathaswamy Temple, famous for having the longest temple corridor in the world. Next, travel to the tip of the island to visit Dhanushkodi, a hauntingly beautiful "ghost town" destroyed by a cyclone, where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean. Pay tribute to a national hero at the House of Kalam, the former residence of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Day - 7
Kanyakumari: The Land's End
Drive along the scenic coastline to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent. Upon arrival, take a ferry to the rocky islets just off the coast. Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a meditation hall built in honor of the spiritual leader, and view the towering Thiruvalluvar Statue. The location offers a unique vantage point where three seas merge.
