Day - 1
Arrival in Chandigarh – Drive to Manali
Upon arrival in Chandigarh, begin your scenic journey towards Manali, nestled in the lush Kullu Valley along the Beas River. As you leave the plains behind, the landscape gradually transforms into winding mountain roads lined with pine forests and charming hillside villages. Arrive in Manali by evening and relax amidst the cool Himalayan air. Overnight in Manali.
Day - 2
Manali to Jispa via Atal Tunnel
Today marks the beginning of your journey into the higher Himalayas. Drive through the remarkable Atal Tunnel, an engineering marvel that cuts through the Pir Panjal range and opens into the dramatic landscapes of Lahaul Valley. The scenery shifts to rugged mountains, open valleys, and flowing rivers as you continue towards Jispa, a peaceful village set along the Bhaga River and surrounded by towering peaks.
Day - 3
Jispa to Leh
An early departure takes you along the legendary Manali–Leh Highway, one of the most breathtaking mountain roads in the world. The route winds through stark high-altitude deserts, dramatic mountain passes, and vast open plateaus that stretch endlessly beneath the Himalayan sky. Leh – Sham Valley Excursion
Today explore the scenic highlights along the Leh–Kargil highway. Visit the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers and the history of the region. Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Experience the curious phenomenon at Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity. Witness the dramatic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers at Sangam Point. Later, visit Alchi Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and unique Indo-Tibetan art, followed by Likir Monastery, home to an impressive golden statue of Maitreya Buddha. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight in Leh.
Day - 5
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Drive towards Nubra Valley, crossing one of the world’s highest motorable passes. From the top, enjoy sweeping views of endless mountain ranges before descending into the valley, often called the “Valley of Flowers.” Nubra’s landscape is uniquely diverse, featuring sand dunes set against snow-capped peaks. Arrive in Hunder, known for its rare double-humped Bactrian camels and peaceful village surroundings. Overnight in Nubra Valley.
Day - 6
Nubra Valley – Excursion to Turtuk
Proceed to the culturally rich village of Turtuk, located close to the Indo-Pakistan border and known for its distinct Balti heritage. Wander through traditional stone houses, explore remnants of ancient forts, and visit historic mosques that reflect centuries-old influences. The village offers magnificent views of the Karakoram range and provides a glimpse into a unique way of life rarely seen elsewhere in India. Return to Nubra in the evening. Overnight in Nubra Valley.
Day - 7
Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake
Begin the day with a visit to Diskit Monastery, which overlooks the valley from a hilltop and houses a towering statue of Maitreya Buddha. Continue your journey toward Pangong Lake via a scenic and adventurous mountain route that follows the Shyok River. As you approach, the vast blue expanse of Pangong Tso suddenly appears, stretching dramatically across the landscape. The lake is famous for its mesmerizing shades of blue that shift with the changing light. Overnight near Pangong Lake.
Day - 8
Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La
Spend the morning soaking in the serene beauty of Pangong Lake before driving back to Leh via another high mountain pass. En route, visit Hemis Monastery, the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. Continue to Thiksey Monastery, known for its grand architecture rising tier upon tier along a hillside. Stop at Shey Palace, once the royal residence of Ladakh’s kings, and visit the well-known Druk White Lotus School, popularly referred to as Rancho School. Arrive in Leh by evening. Overnight in Leh.
Day - 9
Departure from Leh
Transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey, concluding an unforgettable adventure through Ladakh’s dramatic landscapes, ancient monasteries, and pristine high-altitude lakes.
