Your trip in a nutshell
Itinerary
Day - 1
Puri: The Peace Route to the Coast
Your Odisha odyssey begins at Bhubaneswar Airport. We whisk you toward the coast, pausing first at Dhauli, where Emperor Ashoka swapped the sword for peace, marked by the serene Shanti Stupa. Next, walk through the vibrant corridor of Pipili, famed for its Chandua appliqué crafts, and visit the legendary Sakhigopal Temple. Arrive in Puri and unwind on the Golden Beach, a Blue Flag certified stretch perfect for a twilight stroll by the Bay of Bengal.
Day - 2
Konark: Sun Chariots & Sacred Spires
Begin with a sunrise darshan at the sacred Jagannath Temple (Hindus only), a pillar of the Char Dham pilgrimage. The afternoon belongs to stone poetry at Konark. Witness the UNESCO World Heritage Sun Temple, a colossal stone chariot with 24 intricate wheels frozen in time. Visit the quiet Ramachandi Temple and the sweeping Chandrabhaga Beach. If time allows, admire the intricate creations at the Sand Art Museum before returning to your seaside retreat.
Day - 3
Gopalpur: Lagoons & Hilltop Shrines
We trade the open sea for the calm waters of Chilika Lake at Barkul. Board a boat to the island shrine of Kalijai Temple, surrounded by shimmering waters and birdlife. Continue south to the Tara Tarini Shakti Peeth, perched on the Kumari hills, offering panoramic views and deep spiritual significance. End the day at the colonial beach town of Gopalpur-on-Sea, relaxing amidst its old-world charm and gentle waves.
Day - 4
Bhubaneswar: Caves & Kalinga Crafts
Watch the sunrise at Gopalpur before driving back to the capital. Explore the Kala Bhoomi Crafts Museum (closed Mondays) to witness Odisha's rich handloom heritage. Step back into the 2nd century BCE at the Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, ancient rock-cut dormitories of Jain monks. In the evening, tour the "Temple City," visiting the massive Lingaraj Temple, the intricate Mukteshwar Temple, and the sculptural Rajarani Temple.
Day - 5
Jajpur: The Mystic Shakti Peeth
Today involves a spiritual excursion to Jajpur, the ancient capital of Kalinga. Visit the revered Biraja Devi Temple, a significant Shakti Peeth where Goddess Durga is worshipped as the slayer of Mahishasura. On the return journey, stop at the Chattia Bata Temple, a site steeped in local prophecy and folklore regarding the future of the Jagannath Trinity. Spend the evening exploring Bhubaneswar's vibrant markets.
Day - 6
Departure: The Tantric Circle
Before departure, visit the mysterious Chausathi Yogini Temple at Hirapur. This 9th-century, roofless circular shrine is dedicated to 64 tantric goddesses and offers a unique, serene atmosphere distinct from the towering city temples. We then ensure a timely transfer to the airport for your onward connection, leaving you with memories of divine energy and coastal beauty.
