Itinerary

Day - 1

Gwalior: The Hilltop Citadel

Your journey into the heart of India begins in Gwalior. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. The day is dedicated to the magnificent Gwalior Fort, a sandstone fortress dominating the skyline. Explore the unique Saas-Bahu Temples and the towering Teli Ka Mandir, which blends northern and southern architectural styles. Later, witness the opulence of the Scindia dynasty at the Jai Vilas Palace, famous for its massive chandeliers and the intricate temple within the complex.

Day - 2

Orchha to Khajuraho: Medieval Riverbanks

We drive south to Khajuraho, stopping en route at the medieval town of Orchha. Nestled along the Betwa River, this town is a time capsule of Bundela architecture. Explore the fresco-lined Raj Mahal and the grand Jahangir Mahal within the fort complex. Visit the towering Chaturbhuj Temple and the Laxminarayan Temple before admiring the royal Cenotaphs (Chhatris) on the riverbank. Continue the drive to Khajuraho for the night.

Day - 3

Khajuraho: Poems in Stone

Dedicate the day to the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho, a testament to the Chandela dynasty's artistic brilliance. Explore the Western Group, dominated by the magnificent Kandariya Mahadev Temple, renowned for its intricate carvings and towering shikhara. Proceed to the Eastern Group to see the exquisitely carved Jain Temple of Adinatha and Parshvanatha Temple. The stone sculptures here capture life, spirituality, and sensuality with breathtaking detail.

Day - 4

Panna: Into the Vindhya Wilderness

Leave the stone temples behind for the raw wilderness of Panna National Park, a vital tiger habitat. After a short drive and check-in, embark on an afternoon Jeep Safari. Traverse the dry deciduous forests and plateaus along the Ken River, keeping a keen eye out for tigers, leopards, and diverse birdlife. The park's landscape, characterized by gorges and cascading waterfalls, offers a dramatic change of scenery.

Day - 5

Jabalpur: Gond Forts & Geology

Start with an early morning jungle safari to catch the forest waking up. Afterward, drive to Jabalpur, a city steeped in history and geology. Upon arrival, visit the Madan Mahal Fort, a rugged hilltop garrison built by the Gond rulers in the 11th century. Nearby, marvel at the famous Balancing Rock, a volcanic formation that has withstood earthquakes for centuries, defying gravity in a delicate equilibrium.

Day - 6

Departure: Central India Farewell

Enjoy a final breakfast before we transfer you to the Jabalpur airport or railway station. You depart with a diverse collection of memories, from the hill forts of Gwalior and the intricate temples of Khajuraho to the wild jungles of Panna.
