Itinerary
Day - 1
Cochin to Munnar – Arrival in Tea Country
Arrive in Cochin, the Gateway to Kerala, and transfer immediately to the hill station of Munnar. En route, stop for photos at Attukad Waterfalls and Pothamedu Viewpoint. Upon arrival, visit the Tata Tea Museum to witness traditional tea processing and enjoy a tasting session before checking into your resort.
Day - 2
Munnar – National Parks & Dams
Embark on a full-day tour starting with Eravikulam National Park to spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Visit Kundala Lake for its unique arch dam and Mattupetty Dam for scenic boating opportunities. End the day with a visit to Carmelagiri Elephant Park or a stroll through the landscaped Blossom Park.
Day - 3
Thekkady – Spice Hills & Cultural Arts
Drive to Thekkady, winding through plantations rich with the fragrance of cinnamon and cloves. Visit a local spice plantation to see cardamom and pepper cultivation firsthand. In the evening, witness a traditional Kalaripayattu martial arts or Kathakali dance performance at the Mudra Cultural Centre.
Day - 4
Thekkady – Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Proceed for an early morning boat ride on Lake Periyar to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Adventurers can opt for bamboo rafting or a jeep ride. Visit Elephant Junction for further interaction with the gentle giants before returning to the hotel.
Day - 5
Kumarakom – Backwater Serenity
Drive to Kumarakom, the "Venice of the East," located on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Check in and relax, perhaps indulging in an Ayurvedic treatment (optional). In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the lake to soak in the serenity of the backwaters.
Day - 6
Kumarakom – Village Life & Silk
Enjoy a morning village walk or visit Kottayam city to shop for famous South Indian silk sarees. Spend the afternoon rejuvenating with Ayurvedic spa treatments or enjoying the peaceful sunset. Optional cultural shows featuring Kathakali and Kalaripayattu are also available.
Day - 7
Kovalam/Poovar – Coastal Adventures
Drive south to the coastal gems of Kovalam or Poovar. Poovar offers a unique estuary where the river meets the sea, while Kovalam is famous for its Lighthouse Beach. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy water sports like parasailing and snorkeling, or simply relax by the pristine coastline.
Day - 8
Trivandrum & Kanyakumari – Temples & Oceans
Visit the architectural marvel of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and the Napier Museum in Trivandrum. Later, take a day trip to Kanyakumari to see the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and the confluence of three oceans. Return to your hotel for a final dinner.
Day - 9
Departure – Homeward Bound
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Trivandrum Airport. Depart for your hometown with wonderful memories of the diverse landscapes of "God’s Own Country."
