Day - 1
Bhubaneswar to Puri: Peace & Appliqué
Your journey begins at Bhubaneswar Airport, from where we transfer you to the coastal city of Puri. En route, we pause at Dhauli, the historic site where Emperor Ashoka renounced war for Buddhism, marked by the serene Shanti Stupa and ancient rock edicts. Next, witness the vibrant artistry of Pipili, a town world-renowned for its colorful Chandua appliqué handicrafts. Upon reaching Puri, check in and spend a relaxing evening on the pristine Golden Beach, one of Asia’s few Blue Flag certified beaches, enjoying the eco-friendly ambiance and rhythmic waves.
Day - 2
Puri & Konark: The Chariot of the Sun
Begin the day seeking blessings at the sacred Jagannath Temple, a Char Dham pilgrimage site (entry restricted to Hindus). We then embark on an excursion to Konark to witness the Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site designed as a colossal stone chariot with intricate wheels. Visit the serene Chandrabhaga Beach and the Ramachandi Temple. If time permits, admire the intricate sculptures at the International Sand Art Museum before returning to Puri for a peaceful overnight stay.
Day - 3
Bhubaneswar: Caves & Crafts
We leisurely drive back to Bhubaneswar, stopping first at the famous Sakhigopal Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna. Upon arrival in the capital, check into your hotel. Post-lunch, immerse yourself in Odisha's artistic heritage at the Kalabhoomi Crafts Museum (closed Mondays). Later, explore the ancient twin hills of Khandagiri and Udayagiri, home to rock-cut caves that served as dwellings for Jain monks in the 2nd century BCE, offering a glimpse into early Kalinga history and architecture.
Day - 4
Departure: The Temple City Tour
Before your departure, we dive deep into the architectural marvels of the "Temple City." Explore Lingaraj Temple, the massive 11th-century shrine dominating the skyline, followed by the "Gem of Odisha Architecture," Mukteshwar Temple, known for its arched gateway. Admire the intricate carvings of the Rajarani Temple and the ancient Parshurameshwar Temple. We then ensure a timely transfer to the airport, leaving you with memories of Kalinga's spiritual and artistic grandeur.
