Day - 1
Arrival in Chandigarh – Transfer to Manali
Upon arrival in Chandigarh, begin your scenic journey towards Manali. As you leave the plains behind, the road gradually winds through hills, river valleys, and pine forests. The landscape becomes increasingly picturesque as you approach the charming town of Manali, nestled along the Beas River. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax amidst the refreshing mountain atmosphere.
Day - 2
Manali to Jispa via Atal Tunnel
Today begins your journey towards the majestic landscapes of Ladakh. Drive through the remarkable Atal Tunnel, emerging into the dramatic terrain of Lahaul Valley. The scenery transforms into rugged mountains, glacial streams, and open valleys as you pass through Keylong and continue towards Jispa. Surrounded by towering peaks and set along the river, Jispa offers a peaceful halt before the next leg of your adventure.
Day - 3
Jispa to Leh
An early departure takes you along one of the most spectacular mountain highways in the world. The journey unfolds through vast high-altitude deserts, dramatic passes, and sweeping plateaus that stretch endlessly beneath the Himalayan sky. As you cross remote landscapes and pristine mountain stretches, the scenery becomes increasingly stark and surreal. Gradually, the road descends into the historic Indus Valley, leading you to Leh, the cultural and spiritual heart of Ladakh.
Day - 4
Leisure Day in Leh
Today explore the scenic highlights along the Leh–Kargil highway. Visit the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers and the history of the region. Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Experience the curious phenomenon at Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity. Witness the dramatic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers at Sangam Point. Later, visit Alchi Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and unique Indo-Tibetan art, followed by Likir Monastery, home to an impressive golden statue of Maitreya Buddha. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight in Leh.
Day - 5
Leh to Nubra Valley
Drive towards the enchanting Nubra Valley, crossing one of the highest motorable passes in the region. From the top, sweeping views of endless mountain ranges unfold before you. As you descend, the landscape changes dramatically into a unique high-altitude desert framed by snow-capped peaks. Arrive in Hunder, known for its sand dunes and rare double-humped Bactrian camels. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful walk through the small villages and experience the simplicity of life in this remote valley.
Day - 6
Nubra Valley
Today proceed towards Turtuk, a culturally rich village located close to the border. This charming settlement reflects strong Balti influences and offers a rare glimpse into a distinct way of life. Explore traditional homes, historic mosques, and remnants of ancient forts. The surrounding landscapes provide magnificent views of the Karakoram range. After exploring the village and soaking in its unique atmosphere, return to Nubra.
Day - 7
Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake
Begin the day with a visit to Diskit, the administrative center of Nubra Valley, and explore the monastery overlooking the region. Later continue your journey toward Pangong Lake via a scenic and adventurous mountain route that follows the Shyok River. The road passes through dramatic cliffs, remote villages, and vast open terrain before revealing the breathtaking sight of Pangong Tso. The lake’s shimmering waters are known for changing shades of blue throughout the day, creating a truly magical setting.
Day - 8
Pangong Lake to Leh
Spend the morning admiring the tranquil beauty of Pangong Lake before beginning your drive back to Leh via a high mountain pass. En route, visit Hemis Monastery, the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. Continue to Thiksey Monastery, an impressive multi-tiered complex rising gracefully along a hillside. Stop at Shey Palace, once the royal residence of Ladakh, and visit the well-known Druk White Lotus School, popularly referred to as Rancho School. By evening, arrive back in Leh.
Day - 9
Leh to Kargil
Today travel along the historic Leh–Srinagar highway following the Indus River. Visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and experience the fascinating phenomenon at Magnetic Hill. Witness the dramatic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers before continuing towards Likir Monastery, known for its impressive golden Maitreya statue. Proceed further to explore Ridzong Monastery, tucked away in a secluded valley, and visit the ancient Lamayuru Monastery surrounded by the surreal Moonland landscapes. Continue your scenic drive to Kargil.
Day - 10
Kargil to Srinagar via Sonmarg
After breakfast, drive towards Srinagar passing through Drass, known for its stark beauty and historical significance. Pay tribute at the Vijay Smarak, dedicated to the soldiers of the Kargil War. Continue through the breathtaking landscapes of Sonmarg, also known as the Meadow of Gold, surrounded by glaciers and alpine meadows. By afternoon, arrive in Srinagar and settle into your accommodation.
Day - 11
Departure from Srinagar
Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey, concluding a remarkable expedition through the dramatic mountains, monasteries, valleys, and lakes of Ladakh and Kashmir.
